American Rose Society

A nonprofit organization

Founded in 1892, the American Rose Society is the oldest single plant horticultural society in America. The ARS is an educational, nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to the cultivation and enjoyment of roses. We support our members by providing educational programs, resourceful publications, and continuing research. We have more than 200 affiliated rose societies in our national network.

The American Rose Center opened in Shreveport in 1974 as the national headquarters of the American Rose Society. The American Rose Center is the nation's largest park dedicated to roses, as well as an educational resource, nature retreat, event venue, and showcase for the rose. Our gardens include over 400 varieties of roses spread out over 60 acres and are open year-round. We are proud to host our Annual Christmas in Roseland and a community Easter Egg Hunt.

This year we celebrate our 50th Anniversary of bringing "America's Rose Garden" to the Shreveport-Bossier community.  Your generous donation will help us to continue to maintain our beautiful gardens and sustain our grounds for another 50 years.  We greatly appreciate the support our beloved community in supporting the American Rose Society and our headquarters.

Let's Keep Growing Together!
