$15,000 Goal

The Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana is a faith driven and Christ centered organization building homes, building lives and changing communities. At the heart of our mission is building new, affordable homes for low-income working families. But unlike other typical home builds, we are inputting far more than lumber and nails, and we are producing much more than another house on the market. Our homebuilding efforts involve 350 hours of "sweat equity" from potential homeowners, who are taking first time homebuyers and budgeting classes and are saving for closing cost. Each new home built also adds direct, meaningful value in reversing the trend of declining neighborhoods and raising property values. Beyond an individual family or neighborhood, each new Fuller home generates work and injects capital into the local economy. From 2013 until 2018 over $1,065,000 has been paid to over 100 sub-contractors and local businesses to help build 17 homes. Each new home also yields more than $250 a year in city tax payments. The ripple effect of each additional Fuller home is significant to families and communities.

Fuller Center NWLA is extremely grateful for the support of the community. Our 61 homes built would not have been possible without community groups from local churches and businesses providing volunteer labor and without donations of building materials and money from individuals, churches and businesses. These donations and volunteer hours allow the Fuller Center NWLA to construct affordable new homes for approximately $85,000. Our future and the future of deserving homeowners depends on future support from the community.

Testimonials

Fuller Center NWLA does not just build homes - we re-build lives and communities. A United States Navy Veteran residing in an apartment complex that has seen it best days felt that at his age he would not be in a safe secure environment.  Today he is living in his own home and it's a dream come true.   He is thankful for the hand up and his goal is to pay it forward in order that other may experience the joy of owning rather than renting.
