Does approval to participate in Give for Good mean The Community Foundation of North Louisiana endorses each participating nonprofit's charitable purpose and programs?
Give for Good and The Community Foundation are proud to support thousands of donors as they come together on one day to give to their favorite nonprofits or to new causes near to their heart. While The Community Foundation does verify the charitable status of every nonprofit that participates in Give for Good, The Foundation does not screen or select organizations on the basis of their charitable purposes or their missions. Give for Good eligibility is based solely on providing services in North Louisiana and an organization's current status as a recognized Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. Therefore, approval of an organization's participation in Give for Good does not constitute an endorsement of the organization or its mission by The Community Foundation.
Each Give for Good nonprofit page provides the organization's mission, not detailed information on all of its programs. For your additional research, each nonprofit's page also includes a link to their website to provide you with more detailed information on the organization's mission and use of its charitable dollars.
Is my gift safe and secure?
Yes. The giveforgoodnla.org website is powered by CiviCore, and is a secure PCI-Level 1 compliant site for donating to your favorite charities. The Community Foundation does not retain credit card information and your personal data will not be shared with or sold to any outside vendors or third parties.
How will my email address and personal information be used?

Unless you choose to give anonymously, your name, email address and billing address will be shared with the organization(s) to which your donations will be credited. The Community Foundation does not retain credit card information and your personal data will not be shared with or sold to any outside vendors or third parties.
b. Unless you choose to give anonymously, The Community Foundation may send periodic communication about special giving opportunities or events.
Can I authorize a third party to submit a donation on my behalf?
Each donor who enters their own credit card information directly on the Give for Good website, is entering his/her data into a secure web portal. Sponsors of Give for Good assume no liability for credit/debit card information provided by the donor to a third party (e.g. organization staff member or volunteer).
What is the Lagniappe Fund?
The Community Foundation of North Louisiana is securing dollars to be shared by all participating nonprofits receiving donations during Give for Good. These dollars will form the Lagniappe Fund. The amount each nonprofits receives from the Lagniappe Fund will be based on each organization’s overall percentage of funds raised the day of the event. If an organization raises 1% of the total funds raised on May 2, it will receive 1% of the Lagniappe Fund. Individual donations will qualify for the match up to a $10,000 limit to prevent substantial donations from skewing the allocation of the Lagniappe Fund.
How will each nonprofit’s share of the Lagniappe Fund be calculated?
At the completion of Give for Good, CFNLA will determine each nonprofit’s proportionate share of the Lagniappe Fund by dividing the total amount each nonprofit raised by the total amount of dollars raised by all participating nonprofits. This amount will then be multiplied by the total amount of dollars in the Lagniappe Fund.
Reminder: the match IS NOT 100%. It is NOT $1 for $1. Matching is determined after all donations are received.
