Our goal to achieving this mission is first through our Expression Sessions program that assist with and encourage trauma survivors to express themselves through creative outlets such as theater, writing, music, dance and the visual arts. Trauma can rob its victims of their voices. However, through our basic expressive art classes, the trauma survivor can creatively recover and release their voices, once again. Secondly, using trauma survivors as our primary participants and cast members, we customize and produce, hope and recovery based theatrical performances for community outreach. We have truly witnessed many of our Trauma Drama participants experience true catharsis while being apart of our Therapeutic Theater Productions. And lastly, through public speaking opportunities, we help raise community awareness of the potential negative affects of trauma on mental health and the positive benefits of the Expressive Arts as an alternative or supplement, to traditional therapies.
