Animal Welfare, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Our longest running program is our Spay/Neuter Voucher program that has been helping pet owners pay for the spaying and neutering of their pets since 1981. Currently we give out our vouchers on the first and third Saturday of each month except December and January. We have volunteers that meet pet owners at local libraries and give out our vouchers that help pay for the cost of the surgery. Vouchers are good at any local veterinarian clinic. Vouchers are awarded based on marital status and income. Voucher amounts depend on the amount of donations we receive. We started this program back in 1981.

We also care for over 100 dogs and cats that were rescued but never found their "forever" homes through adoption for various reasons. They are living out their lives in foster homes who love and care for each and every one of them. For example Nikki, a border collie mix, came to us because he was an excessive barker and he was dumped at a local veterinarian office. He has a compulsive disorder and just needed lots of love and security. We also have Ruby, a blue heeler, that was confiscated from a bad rescue and was set to be euthanized due to lack of interest in her. She is happy at her home and has bonded with Snizzle, a Golden retriever mix, that was given up by his elderly owner when Elderly Protective Services put the owner in a nursing home. All great pets but for different reasons were never adopted.
