Goal
Provide support services and resources  to Caddo Parish citizens, aged 60 and older, who are: homebound, frail, and/or living alone to reduce feelings of isolation and improve or maintain their health. In addition to Meals on Wheels, the staff  strives to provide individuals and  caregivers knowledge and resources which enable sound decision making and increased safety and security for their elderly loved ones. These services result in seniors remaining independent in their home environment and substantial cost reductions for families and government.

Testimonials

"Meals on Wheels has been a lifeline for me, that knock on the door is music to my ears."

"Thank you for today's lunch, "I really enjoyed the chicken and candied yams."

"I fell one morning and couldn't get up. Thanks to the help from the Meals on Wheels delivery person 911 was called. Now I'm back home and doing well".

"I purchase fewer groceries each month, now that I receive at least 5 cooked lunches a week."

"It is reassuring to know that someone will check on me 4 times a week. Before I started receiving Meals on Wheels, it was weeks at a time before I would have a visitor, especially since the Pandemic started."

Mission

Caddo Council On Aging [CCOA] and our Meals On Wheels [MOW] program are empowering the elderly in our community to continue aging in their own home by delivering hot, nutritionally balanced meals to the door of those who would otherwise face a food shortage because of physical or financial inability.
