Companions of CPAS

Companions of CPAS is committed to saving the lives of animals at Caddo Parish Animal Services, our local open intake shelter. Our efforts focus on reducing euthanasia by networking with out-of-state no-kill rescues, organizing safe animal transports, and providing medical care, including treatment for heartworm-positive dogs. We also raise awareness in the community about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, especially through youth education and free vaccination events.

Our organization supports injured and at-risk animals by funding veterinary care, facilitating fostering, and ensuring animals are ready for adoption or transport with proper health documentation. One of our standout initiatives, Paws For Patriots, includes pairing shelter dogs with veterans to create healing, supportive bonds—offering medical care, training, and essentials during the transition.

Companions of CPAS operates with the belief that every animal deserves a chance, regardless of injury or circumstance, and we rely on community support to carry out our life-saving mission.
