CRISIS RESPONSE SERVICES IN LOUISIANA

CADA has been named the new provider for Region 7. Crisis care is a new approach to how we deliver mental health services and treatment in Louisiana. It is offered to clients on a voluntary basis, includes peer support specialists and case managers, and creates an opportunity for us to customize care and coordinate community services for each person. It also allows us to follow up with clients to ensure they are doing well and continuing to stay connected with the services that can help them thrive. Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Claiborne, DeSoto, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, and Webster parishes constitute the Region 7 Crisis Service area. There will soon be a program roll-out, and as we increase staffing levels and make new friends in these areas, the program will grow to have a significant impact on the many problems associated with people needing mental health services in our region. CADA's RECOVERY LIVING TRANSITION STIPEND PROGRAM

A community-based approach to addiction treatment, providing an independent, supportive, and sober living environment for people in recovery from Substance Use Disorders. The program addresses the housing needs of men, women, pregnant women, and women or men with dependent children, and helps people transition from treatment programs and sober living houses to their own apartments. CADA, as the contract administrator of this state program, issues stipends that will help absorb some of the rent and startup costs (such as utilities) for a maximum of three months. Other education and information are also offered by a licensed social worker or clinician in order to assist people transitioning from residential addiction treatment to sustainable independent sober living.

Our Story:

CADA has been providing hope for those struggling with substance use disorders - and their families - in Northwest Louisiana for 65 years. The Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, private health organization providing substance abuse treatment services. CADA is one of 100 affiliates of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence and is a CARF Accredited Organization.

CADA offers residential and outpatient treatment programs out of our facilities in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, and accepts clients from all around the state.  CADA also offers prevention and outreach education throughout the community. Our residential substance abuse treatment program includes gender-specific community groups, relapse-specific group therapy, individual counseling, family sessions, educational lectures, 12-step support groups and daily recreation opportunities. Our outpatient substance abuse programs can help develop early recovery skills, identify triggers, manage stress and recognize unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Our Outpatient Clinic is located in Shreveport, LA.

CADA employs Peer Recovery Support Specialists, many of whom completed CADA treatment programs themselves. These "Peers" are the first point of contact for CADA clients. Peers work with our clients during treatment and afterward for up to four years to help increase successful recovery outcomes.

Support for Families

CADA is here for the whole family. Dealing with a loved one who is struggling with addiction is challenging for every member of the family from parents to children, from siblings to spouses. Every member of the family needs support, education on addictions, and a chance to learn ways to break the chains of addiction. At CADA, each member of the family can begin healing by participating in the  The Edna "Tootsie" Davis Family Education Program. Join us for a monthly meal, fellowship, and education on various issues that accompany addiction recovery.
