Give for Good. Invest in Pilots. Shape the Future of LSUS.

The annual Give For Good campaign is one of the most powerful ways you can support LSU Shreveport and the people who make our university extraordinary—our alumni and our students.

Your generosity fuels the LSUS Alumni Association, enabling us to grow, stay strong, and continue serving as a vital bridge between the university, our graduates, and the broader Shreveport‑Bossier community.

Because of donors like you, the Alumni Association can:

  • Award thousands of dollars in scholarships each year to deserving LSUS students
  • Strengthen alumni engagement and connection, near and far
  • Highlight alumni businesses, pairing students with interested mentors
  • Elevate the visibility and reputation of our alma mater
  • Celebrate excellence across our diverse alumni community

Every gift—no matter the size—helps ensure the long‑term stability and reach of the Alumni Association, allowing us to support LSUS today while building momentum for tomorrow.

Why It Matters

The Alumni Association plays a critical role in advancing LSU Shreveport’s mission as the only comprehensive metropolitan university in the Shreveport‑Bossier area. Through our programs, partnerships, and traditions, we promote enrollment and student success while simultaneously strengthening the LSUS brand. The Association's activities increase community awareness of the university's programs, special events, and specific needs. Our most important commitment will always be to our alumni—recent or longtime, on‑campus or online. Each carries a unique LSUS story, and together, those stories shape the legacy of this university.

Beyond scholarships, the Alumni Association also:

  • Maintains and enhances the alumni database
  • Underwrites over 10+ alumni events and university programs
  • Supports staff training and engagement initiatives
  • Hosts meaningful graduation traditions such as the Commencement Welcome Mix & Mingle
  • Enhances campus spaces, including the Dr. Lacy and Edie Williams Circle of Excellence

Together, these efforts ensure that LSUS students, alumni, and the wider community continue to thrive. When you give, you strengthen a legacy of opportunity, connection, and pride.

Testimonials

David A. Okuampa graduated in Molecular and Cellular Biology in May of 2017 and said, "I'm honored to be a recipient of the LSUS Alumni Scholarship. Receiving this scholarship has motivated me to work harder and harder all the time in pursuit of my educational and career goals. Also, this is an exemplary means for me to give back to the community when I also become an Alumni. This scholarship has relieved me of so many educational hurdles. A big THANKS to all LSUS ALUMNI for such generous support. I truly appreciate it. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. I'm planning on going to medical school!"

Trang D. Hoang said, "I received the Alumni Association Scholarship in the fall of 2015. I was in my pre-student teaching semester, so it couldn't have come at a better time. I needed to cut my work hours in order to place my focus on student teaching, and I was worried about what that could mean for me financially. The scholarship provided me with some assurance that I was going to be okay during this time period, and I could not be more grateful!"
