Men's Sheds are designed as a place for retired men to gather, make new friendships, laugh, talk, and feel more productive by completing projects for themselves and others. The main goal is to overcome loneliness, isolation and depression. But Ms. Beulah's dream went even farther-she envisioned a place where men and women of all ages could be involved. And so, the Ruston Community Men's Shed was born and has grown into one of the fastest growing Men's Sheds.

The Ruston Community Men's Shed has a solid core of members who want to share this gift with other men and women in the Ruston area. As I reflect on the events of the past two years, I realize that a lot of friendships have developed because of the Men's Shed. Our regular attenders are beyond excited that the Shed has officially reopened in a new location; that we can put our masks on and visit with our fellow Shedders - in person - as we work on individual and group projects. Our membership has truly become the community of Beulah's dreams.

Our "She Shedder" group is amazing. We plan projects, some personal and many for fund raising.
We have designated Mondays to just get together, have coffee and plan and visit.
I personally met so many new friends thru the Ruston Community Men's Shed. Allowing the women to be a part of this organization has been such a benefit.

I have my own woodworking shop, but enjoy going to the Men's Shed for the comradery and social interaction with other craftsmen and women. It's nice to be able to ask for suggestions or guidance on how to do something or learn to use a new tool. I also enjoy sharing my skills with others. The relationships we build are more important and longer lasting than the project being constructed. The Men's Shed has been a great addition to our community.
