Settled Inn Village

Settled Inn Village is an organization that will oversee the construction and operation of a community of small houses to provide affordable, permanent housing for individuals unable to find suitable housing. By establishing a community setting, the individuals that live in Settled Inn Village will not only find housing but the support they need to remain housed. The current method of housing individuals in separate residences not linked together by services and social interaction does not provide the needed personal support to overcome the reason our friends find themselves homeless initially. The greatest cause of homelessness is a profound loss of community and family.

The concept of a community setting planned by Settled Inn Village will be to provide permanent rented small individual houses to clients configured in cul-de-sac groups. Each grouping of 10 tiny houses will provide a setting that will encourage communication and support among the residents. There will be centralized services easily accessible by the full community. On site will be various services such as mobile medical clinic, chemical dependency treatments, mental health services and life skills couching. Each client will be supported by a case worker that will work on personal development that would include vocational training, interpersonal skills building, community involvement, leisure activities and independent living skills. To encourage financial responsibility and independence, onsite dignified work opportunities will be offered and supported.
