Shreveport Symphony Guild, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Shreveport Symphony Guild, Inc., provides essential support for musical arts in the community.  Each year the Guild sponsors or co-sponsors one Shreveport Symphony concert.  The Guild also offers financial assistance to the Wideman International Piano Competition, which attracts stellar pianists from all over the world.  The Guild has restored and continues to maintain the “Symphony House,” an 1872 home that was the first structure in Shreveport to be placed in the National Register of Historic Places.  This "House" serves not only as a lovely venue for Symphony receptions but also for non-musical events for the community.  In addition, Guild members assist as ushers for two days of Symphony concerts for schoolchildren in Shreveport and Bossier City, imparting the joy of symphonic music to children and helping to create concert audiences for future generations.  Shreveport Symphony Guild, Inc., thus provides unique opportunities for cultural enrichment to everyone in the Ark-La-Tex region.
