The South Highlands Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that was established in 2003. The Foundation currently exists to "bridge the gap" between public funds allocated to the School by Caddo Parish and the needs of both the student body and faculty of South Highlands. The Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the learning environment at our school by providing equipment, technology, teaching aids, and infrastructure.
Every year the South Highlands Foundation relies upon the generous donations of parents, friends, and the community to achieve its goal. Since its inception the Foundation has raised over $850,000 to impact school achievement.
Last year the South Highlands Foundation successfully raised enough funds to renovate the old auditorium and create a multipurpose space now dubbed the "Tiger Den." This year the Foundation's goal is to provide an audio/visual system for the newly renovated Tiger Den. This addition would complete the school's vision for the new space and give the children of South Highland a true multipurpose area.
Mission
To provide financial support beyond public funding that sustains the technological and auxiliary needs of the students and teachers of South Highland Elementary Magnet School.
