The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s Goldman School and Child Development Center is a Type III, licensed, three-star quality rated child development center and Early Head Start program for children ages 8 weeks to 5 years old. Goldman School, The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s founding program, was started in 1954 by parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With little to no educational opportunities for children with disabilities at the time, these families put their heads together to create opportunities themselves. They knew that, if given the right tools and resources, their sons and daughters were just as capable of learning and developing as other children. Today, nearly 70 years later, Goldman School provides childcare, along with early education and intervention, in an inclusive environment where children with disabilities can learn and grow alongside their typically developing peers.
