What an exciting event this promises to be! I'm thrilled to be part of the Shelter Slumber Party, hosted by BFF of Desoto Animal Services on behalf of DeSoto Parish Animal Services.

For those who know me, my love for animals (or as I fondly call them, my furbabies) knows no bounds. Whether they're mine or someone else's, I can't help but adore them. That's why when the opportunity arose to support the cause of finding loving homes for these sweet dogs and cats, I immediately jumped on board.

My journey with wonderful animals spans roughly 25 years back when my husband and I found each other (Thanks Sis!).

It all started with a dream of owning a Great Dane, and soon enough, we welcomed Jade, a beautiful Great Dane girl, and Ginger, a lovely Sheltie, into our family. When Ginger passed away, we added Bella, another Sheltie, to our clan. Then came Chloe, the Great Dane, after Jade's passing at the age of 12. We felt truly blessed.

Our first semi-rescue, Penny the Boxer, stole our hearts. Her birth mother couldn't care for her properly, and sadly, her siblings didn't make it. Jerry's family in Arkansas took care of her until we could bring her home to join Chloe and Bella. Losing Chloe, my heart dog, at less than 5 years old was devastating. But with time, we healed; and welcomed our first cat, Becca, into our lives. She's been an absolute sweetheart.

In our journey, we met Ellie Mae, a Great Dane who was almost surrendered to the shelter. We couldn't let that happen and renamed her fittingly. Then came June Bug and Daisy Mae, two more Great Danes, with Daisy Mae becoming Tyler's new love interest, who's practically moved in with him!

And finally, there's Rip, our little survivor. Left for dead and with severe wounds, he was in a terrible state when my sister and her team rescued him. We adopted him from the very shelter we're supporting today, Desoto Parish.

These beloved pets not only filled our home with love but also taught our sons, Michael and Tyler, the same passion for animals. Michael has since become a veterinarian, specializing in Ophthalmology. His wife Katlin is also a skilled veterinarian. Together, they've trained Guide Dogs for the Blind for several years and have three amazing dogs (Apollo, Rosa, and Chica) and a beautiful cat named Athena, all adopted.

Our family's love for animals runs deep, and I'm honored to dedicate my time to raise funds for more of these beautiful souls in need of love.

They all deserve to be cherished! If you're able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me as I work towards my goal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support for these wonderful babies, great and small!

This event will be Paw-sitively AWESOME!!!
