Surfari Pals Inc

A nonprofit organization

We hear things like, "Children today have no manners, aren't able to resolve conflict without violence, aren't considerate, have no self-discipline, and are selfish." Why do we hear these things? Children must be taught how to develop positive behaviors. What if every child, regardless of their social or economic status, knew that they had the power to make a difference in their life, and the lives around them?
What if every child learned attributes such as kindness, honor, and to treat others with the highest respect? What if every child learned skills such as setting goals, strong work ethic, and that with or without money, one of the most valuable things in life is self-respect.

This is the purpose of Surfari Pals. Surfari Pals is a natural, step-by-step, fun, rewarding program that teaches children exactly how to learn these things.

We provide this curriculum at no cost for Title 1 schools who desire to partner with us for the benefit of their students. Surfari Pals is taught as part of the Positive Behavioral Initiative Program.

Testimonials

One parent said, "My child says, 'please, thank you, and yes ma'am' now. She never did that in the past."

"I see a big difference in the use of manners in class." Ms. McConnell, 3rd grade, Oak Park

"My students are saying 'thank you' when I hand them things. They rarely did that before Surfari Pals." Ms. Jackson, 5th grade, Oak Park

"On Halloween night I was going to take some candy from my sister's basket. When I was reaching for it, I remembered what Kip Surfari said about being honest and not taking things that do not belong to me. I thought to myself 'What are you doing?' I decided not to take her candy, and I am proud of myself for that." 4th-grade student.

"I like Surfari Pals because I get to learn about different ocean animals that I never knew about before." - 2nd-grade student

Mission

Our mission is to teach children, in grades first through fifth, the critical skills and character development they need to thrive in their homes, schools, and communities.

Our vision is to see children who go through the Surfari Pals program excel above their peers in soft skills, acts of service, and in the ability to present themselves well.

"Teaching Kids Good Character" is more than our tagline, it's our purpose.
