The elle foundation

A nonprofit organization

We strive to assess the ongoing needs of our communities in the tri-state areas and develop programs that are on the cutting edge that best meet those needs. It is our vision to remain on the forefront of service delivery in the community and social services industries for the home, school, employment and community. The Elle Foundation has three grant funded programs called Supportive Services for Veteran Families, Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program and Shreveport Cares Shelter.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) -program provides supportive services to very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. Services include outreach, case management, assistance in obtaining VA benefits, and help in accessing and coordinating other public benefits. SSVF grantees can also make time-limited temporary payments on behalf of Veterans to cover rent, utilities, security deposits and moving costs. We have been able to house over 100 veterans per year over the last 7 years.

Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP)- program provides employment and training services to assist in reintegrating homeless veterans into meaningful employment within the labor force and to stimulate the development of effective service delivery systems that will address the complex problems facing homeless veterans. The program is employment-focused and homeless veterans receive customized employment and training services to assist them in successfully transitioning into the labor force. This is the newest program that we are having great success with, as we are able to find gainful employment for 75 veterans per year.

Shreveport Cares Program-Program provides comprehensive services and support including shelter when necessary to approximately 20 youths per year. The youth ages 12 to 18 are at risk of becoming homeless and/or runaway youth in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. Shreveport Cares will recruit any adolescent boys and girls who are homeless. Some will be "put out","aged out" or disowned due to sexual orientation and identity. We Have been able to serve approximately 100 youths over the last 5 years.
