Louisiana Key Academy Caddo Campus

Did you know that 1 in 5 students have dyslexia?

Dyslexia is defined as an unexpected difficulty in reading for an individual who has the intelligence to be a much better reader.

Louisiana Key Academy is redefining what it means to learn through the lens of dyslexia and empowering our students with an education built around their needs. We offer specialized, evidence-based instruction for students with dyslexia in Grades K-5th.

Milestones & Momentum:

LKA Caddo Campus 2023-2024 Year in Review

  • 90 students are currently enrolled, with 159 anticipated for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Expanding to serve Kindergarten through 5th Grade for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • 100% re-enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year.

  • Serving students from FIVE parishes in Northwest Louisiana including Caddo, Bossier, Desoto, Red River, and Webster

  • 500 families are expected to benefit from LKA Caddo over the next 5 years.

Following the successful completion of our inaugural academic year (2023-2024), Louisiana Key Academy Caddo is delighted to announce that 100% of our students have chosen to re-enroll for the upcoming school year (2024-2025). This achievement is only made possible through the unwavering support of our generous community of donors. Your support helps us provide each student with evidence-based, specialized instruction every day. Our curriculum has helped each of our students achieve incredible results this year.

Building upon this momentum, LKA Caddo will expand our offerings to include kindergarten through 5th grade for the upcoming academic year. Over the next several years, we plan to continue adding additional grades each year until we reach 8th grade.

As a tuition-free public charter school, LKA Caddo empowers parents by giving them the opportunity to provide their children with exceptional educational resources, regardless of their current financial standings. At LKA, we firmly believe that a great education should be accessible to all students with dyslexia.

 The Louisiana Key Academy Difference

At Louisiana Key Academy, our specially trained team of educators is redefining what it means to learn through the lens of dyslexia, creating an inspiring and results-oriented educational environment designed to help students thrive.

LKA believes that students with dyslexia should be identified early and given the education necessary to reach their full potential.  Students will receive 90 minutes of specialized reading instruction daily. This instruction occurs in groups of 6 or fewer and is taught by a trained dyslexia educator.  Our approach is key to creating an environment that helps students with dyslexia love learning again.

All LKA teachers are trained to teach children with dyslexia through an IMSLEC-accredited center, the Dyslexia Resource Center.  LKA teachers spend one to two years learning about dyslexia so they understand the science behind dyslexia and what that looks like in the classroom.

We don't just teach.  We create opportunities for students to absorb new concepts through multiple modalities and interdisciplinary learning.  Together, we are empowering students to succeed at their highest potential.

More than a School for Dyslexia

We're more than a school. We're a community of passionate educators, parents, and students with a deeply vested interest in transforming how students with dyslexia receive the education they deserve. Founded with care and compassion by a board-certified M.D. and proud parents of children with dyslexia, LKA is paving the way for brighter futures.
