BFF of Desoto Animal Services

The IRS granted BFF of DeSoto Animal Services, Inc. 501c3 nonprofit status on July 21, 2021.  Though we are a small nonprofit, our hope is to grow to help as many animals as possible.  The nonprofit was established specifically to support the animals and small rural Animal Shelter of DeSoto Parish.  Our commitment is to provide volunteer and financial support to DeSoto Parish Animal Services.  DeSoto Parish Animal Services covers the entirety of DeSoto Parish and continues to provide services to the citizens of the Parish while continuing to experience budget cuts.  BFF of DeSoto Animal Services, Inc. works in partnership with DeSoto Parish Animal Services to find homes for the feline and canine residents of the Animal Shelter.  We accomplish this through partnerships with Animal Rescues across the country.  We provide funding for required vetting of those animals pulled for rescue and cover transport costs to get the animals from DeSoto Parish to states all over the country.  We also conduct fundraisers to secure necessary supplies such as food, beds, toys, cleaning supplies and kennels.  We also work to secure volunteers for various projects around the Animal Shelter. 

As the nonprofit grows, our goals also include supporting the Animal Shelter in the establishment of programs that promote responsible pet ownership and services that benefit the animals and residents of DeSoto Parish.  Some of those programs include low cost spay/neuter clinics, low-cost vaccines, and financial support for emergency services.  Additional programs would be educational in focus to help new and existing pet owners provide the best home possible for their furry family members.
