The YWCA of NWLA was officially established in Shreveport in 1925. From providing safe shelter for single women, and sexual assault survivor care to the LEAD programs of today, the YWCA has worked tirelessly with women of all races and ages in our area to address issues affecting women and girls.
Nationally and locally, the organization is committed to eliminating racism and empowering women. While great strides have been made since the 1850s, there are still many issues that predominantly affect women and issues of racism abound globally.
Join me and the other board members of the YWCA of NWLA to continue advocating for change in both of these areas, to realize a Shreveport of growth and connection. 🧡
