Barbie's Birthday Bash for BFF's Babies!!!

My name is Barbie, and I am the Executive Director of Desoto Parish Animal Services. Let me share a bit about my journey, and why I'm excited to sleep among these amazing dogs on April 6th. 

 After serving in the Air Force for ten years, I pursued my passion for animal care by becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). I've worked in various animal clinics, specializing in different areas, such as equine medicine, avian medicine, and even working with non-human primates. Eventually, I found myself drawn to shelter medicine and the complexities of running an organization like this for the animals who need it most. 

 My heart has always been with animals who can't speak for themselves, and no one deserves it more than these beautiful animals with nowhere else to go. As my birthday approaches, I'm inviting you to join me in making it a celebration with a purpose. Your support will make a real difference in the lives of these animals, helping them find loving homes and reducing overpopulation through our Spay/Neuter programs.  

Let's turn my birthday into a special day for these animals—a day to celebrate adoption and the joy they bring to their new families. Together, we can continue to fight for their well-being and ensure they find the love and care they deserve, with many more “Gotcha Days” among their new loving families to come.
